Hi. I’m Peter with Import Auto Performance and TPMSToolMan.com here to talk to you about the TPMS Quick Set from ATEQ and I’m going to show you how to use this from start to finish.
So we’re going to go through the install, how to download your sensor IDs and how to import new sensor IDs and put them into the vehicle, reprogram the vehicle.
So let’s get started. So first we will open it up. You see you got the tool with the cable, OBD-II cable, USB cable for your computer and here’s a software we’re going to install in the computer. OK?
So we got the CD in there. Wait for it to load. All right. So click Run, install software obviously. Install. So this pops up. Just click Repair and Next. Finish. Installation will now proceed. Next and install. Now the software is getting installed.
Icon just popped up on the desktop and finish. OK. Now you want to connect the tool via USB, one end into the tool, one end via USB, and you will see now that the light is blinking. Click Next and that will install the driver for the tool. You will also receive a, “Congratulations! You have finished installing the driver,” and click Finish.
Now if you ever have any issues with installing the driver, there’s always the most latest and updated driver for the tool that’s available on the ATEQ website. You can go to the site and download the latest and most updated driver. OK?
OK. Now I just clicked on the icon and you’re going to click on New Vehicle. This is where you will enter your vehicle in and so for this test, we’re going to do Nissan, Maxima, 2010 and click OK.
OK? You will click Continue. Now, we will disconnect the TPMS just like it tells you, the tool, and now we’re going to go to the car and plug it into the OBD-II port. OK. All right.
So now I’ve got the tool plugged into the OBD-II port. You will see that it’s blinking. You need to turn the vehicle into the on position and now depending on what set of wheels you have on the car whether it’s winter or summer, you’re going to want to hold down the button for that season.
So for us, we’re going to hold down Winter. Now you see that the indicator has gone to solid and so you know that it has downloaded the sensor IDs and we’re going to go back to the computer.
All right. So now I’m going to plug the USB cable back into the tool and we’re going to watch the computer change. It just went to step eight and here you’re going to select the season. So we’re going to select winter as I’ve stated earlier. You get a successful operation indicator and click OK.
All right. Now you can see all of the winter set IDs that I downloaded from the car are now into the software and now we’re going to go on and we’re going to enter in the new IDs for the new set of sensors.
So now what we’ve done is we’ve gone in and entered in the summer IDs and one thing to note is that you’re going to see the double zeros ahead of the sensor IDs. You don’t need to enter those in. It’s going to do that automatically. So just start with the sensor ID. You’re going to be two digits short. You’re going to think you’re two digits short anyway but when you click Enter, it’s going to add two zeros to the front. So you don’t have to worry about that.
If you’re getting an error message about the link for the sensor IDs, it’s probably because you added the double zeros in ahead of time. All right. So we added them in. I’m going to click Save to Quick Set. OK?
Now I disconnect the quick set and we’re going to go back to the car. So now we’ve got the tool hooked back up to the OBD-II connector. You see this flashing? The car is in the start position, the on position, and I’m going to hold down the Summer button and now you see that it has gone solid.
So now you know that the car has been successfully — the TPMS has been successfully reset. One thing to note is that the tool does not have a battery associated with it. It draws power from the OBD-II connector. OK? So you don’t have to worry about the battery running out. You can throw this in your glove box and keep it there and now since you’ve got two sets of sensor IDs in here, next time you want to switch from winter to summer, summer to winter set, you don’t need a computer anymore. Everything is programmed in here. Put it in your glove box. Next time you switch wheels, plug it back in, hold the other season down and you’re done. It’s all set. It’s as easy as that.
